Which screens are 5120 × 2880?
Apple's 27-inch displays use this 5K size: Studio Display, Studio Display XDR, and the 27-inch iMac with 5K Retina display. It is exactly twice 2560 × 1440 in each direction, which is why macOS shows "looks like 2560 × 1440" in Displays settings.
A 4K wallpaper has a third fewer pixels across, so it is enlarged and softer on a 5K screen. These 5K files also look sharp on the 24-inch iMac and on any 4K or 1440p 16:9 monitor, because they scale down cleanly.
