Privacy Policy
iPhonesWallpaper is a free wallpaper site. You can browse, preview and download every wallpaper without an account, and we don't ask for your name, email or any other personal details. This page explains the small amount of data that is still involved when you use the site.
What we collect
- Server logs. Like almost every website, our web server automatically records each request: your IP address, browser and device type, the page or file requested, the referring page, and the time. We use these logs to keep the site running, investigate errors and block abuse. They are kept by our hosting provider for a limited period and are not used to build profiles of visitors.
- View and download counts. When a wallpaper is viewed or downloaded, we add one to that wallpaper's total. These totals are anonymous numbers; they are not linked to you.
- Likes, ratings and reports. When you like or rate a wallpaper, a random identifier is saved in a cookie (
iw_vid) so you can change your vote and can't vote twice; we store only a scrambled (hashed) form of it with your vote, plus a scrambled form of your IP address to stop spam. A "Report a problem" message is stored with the wallpaper, the reason you chose, what you typed and the same scrambled IP. Please don't put personal details in the message. - Your iPhone model, if you choose one. When you pick your iPhone, the choice is saved in a cookie in your own browser so wallpapers are shown in your screen's shape. It is not sent anywhere else or tied to your identity.
- Advertising. The site is free because it shows ads from Google AdSense. Google and its partners collect data such as cookie identifiers, IP address and the pages you visit to show and measure ads, as described below.
Apart from Google AdSense, we do not use analytics services, social media trackers or tracking pixels, and we do not sell personal data.
Advertising and Google AdSense
- Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this website or other websites.
- Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visits to this site and/or other sites on the Internet.
- You can opt out of personalised advertising in Google's Ads Settings. You can also opt out of some other vendors' use of cookies for personalised advertising at aboutads.info or, in the EU, youronlinechoices.eu.
- If you are in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom or Switzerland, we ask for your consent through a consent message before cookies are used for personalised ads. You can change your choice at any time from the privacy link that message adds to the page.
Google explains how it uses information from sites that show its ads in How Google uses information from sites or apps that use our services.
Cookies
The site sets the cookies below. Google AdSense also sets its own advertising cookies (for example __gads, __gpi and IDE), which are covered by the advertising section above.
| Cookie | Purpose | Kept for |
|---|---|---|
my_device | Remembers the iPhone model you picked, so cards take its shape and downloads preselect its size. | 1 year, or until you choose “Any model” |
my_mac, my_pc, my_ipad | Remember the Mac, PC or iPad model you picked in that section, so downloads preselect its size. | 1 year, or until you choose “Any model” |
iw_vid | A random identifier, set only when you like or rate a wallpaper, so your vote can be changed and isn't counted twice. | 1 year |
wp_viewed | Lists the wallpapers you opened today, so refreshing a page doesn't count as a new view. | 24 hours |
PHPSESSID | Keeps site administrators signed in to the admin area. Regular visitors never receive it. | Until the browser is closed |
You can delete or block these cookies in your browser settings. The site keeps working without them; it just won't remember your iPhone model, and ads may be less relevant.
Third-party services
Ads are provided by Google AdSense; see the advertising section above.
Our fonts are loaded from Google Fonts. When a page loads, your browser requests the font files from Google's servers, which means Google receives your IP address and browser details. Google describes how it handles this data in the Google Privacy Policy.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to ask what personal data we hold about you, to have it corrected or deleted, or to object to how it is used. Because we don't run accounts, the only personal data we hold ourselves is the IP address in our server logs; for data collected by Google for advertising, use Google's Ads Settings or contact Google. To make a request, email us with the approximate date and time of your visit so we can find the relevant entries.
Children
The site is meant for a general audience and does not knowingly collect personal data from children.
Changes to this policy
If we add a new service that handles visitor data, such as analytics or advertising, we will update this page first and change the date at the top.
